Gengar's Shadow (Japanese: きみのうしろのゲンガー The Gengar Behind You) is written by Akihito Toda and illustrated by Aya Kusube. In English, it is the 20th book in the Pokémon Tales series. In Japanese, it is the 45th book. It is 18 pages long.

The information available online for the English edition of the book Gengar's Shadow overlaps heavily with the information for Onix Underground. All online sources for Gengar's Shadow appear under the title "Onix Underground", with the same ISBN and sometimes the same release date or blurb as for Onix Underground. The main difference is simply the image that the webpage shows for the cover: it will either feature Gengar and have "Gengar's Shadow" as its title, or it will feature Onix and have "Onix Underground" as its title. More confusingly, both covers feature the subtitle "Pokémon Tales 20". It is unclear whether Gengar's Shadow might be a hoax, or if there was some sort of error when it was published, and/or if the book's information has simply never been correctly recorded online.
