Luna (Japanese: ルナ Luna) is a character of the day who appeared in Curbing the Crimson Tide!.
Luna is a wealthy young girl who lives in Commerce City in the Kanto region. She grew up increasingly lonely, as her parents often left home to continue their scientific work. To occupy her active mind, she turned her Scizor into the caped menace known as Red Lightning (Japanese: 赤いイナズマ). She also put a small radio around its neck to make it appear like it was talking, causing further confusion as to whether Red Lightning was human or Pokémon. She used a microphone on her laptop to provide Red Lightning's voice.
Soon, Red Lightning crossed paths with May and her Squirtle. Squirtle was easily defeated with a Hyper Beam attack. With the help of Team Rocket's balloon, Ash and his friends were able to track down Red Lightning to Luna's estate and discover her antics. Ash challenged Luna to a Pokémon battle. He initially chose Pikachu to battle Red Lightning, but when he realized that he needed a Pokémon who can scale buildings, he switched out to Sceptile. Everyone soon realized that Luna was using the city updrafts to make it appear that Scizor was flying, Sceptile copying Scizor's technique to even the playing field. During the battle, Scizor began to fall but Sceptile saved it.
After Luna's butler revealed that Luna was often lonely, May started to relate to her and said that she sometimes missed her parents while she was on her journey. Soon, May challenged Luna to a rematch with her Squirtle. This time around, Squirtle was the victor. After the battle, Luna promised not to cause trouble anymore, but she made May promise her that she would come to visit her again someday.

| Luna's Scizor is Luna's only known Pokémon. Luna helped raise Scizor ever since it was a Scyther.
Following its evolution, Luna transformed her Scizor into Red Lightning (Japanese: 赤いイナズマ); a caped-wearing and incredibly powerful alias that took great pride in defeating Trainers across Commerce City. Its impeccable speed and Hyper Beam helped it defeats its unwilling opponents. Every Pokémon that got defeated by Red Lightning got marked on. Ash and his friends, with the help of Team Rocket's balloon, eventually discovered Red Lightning's true identity. Luna eventually shelved Red Lightning after May defeated Scizor using her Squirtle, helping her to realize that there were better ways to have fun other than causing mischief. Red Lightning's known moves are Hyper Beam, Agility, and Swift. | ||
