This is a reverse-chronological list of event distributions for all languages that were given away for the Generation I games.

Pokémon 2000 Stadium Tour Mew

All people who attended the Pokémon 2000 Stadium Tour could receive a Mew by downloading one from a distribution machine. These came with a certificate of authenticity, which included the Pokémon's ID number.

Toys "R" Us Mew

The first 1,500 customers at each Toys "R" Us store around the United States received a special 'Peel & Win' sticker card. 200 at each store contained the text "Caught Me!" underneath, which allowed the player to receive a Mew.

This promotion gave away no more than 1,000 Mew. 1,000 prizes were given away, but players who did not have a Pokémon game cartridge received a T-shirt instead. Players needed to submit an application to Nintendo Power for a chance to win Mew.

Nintendo Space World '99 Mew

This is the second Mew distribution in Nintendo Space World event in 1999. At this distribution, players connected their game cartridge to a distribution device. On-screen, a visual of a Mew traveling through a cable to the player's game would appear. To receive a Mew, players had to submit an application postcard.

Pokémon Stamp

Two Pokémon Fearow and Rapidash, both have the special move Pay Day were available through the Pokémon Stamp campaign in an issue of Shogakukan magazine.

These Pokémon are the Kanto Pokémon Fan Club Chairman's two favorite Pokémon that are mentioned in the games, and also made their appearance in The Coming of Slowpoke (Eventually) in Pokémon Adventures.

University Magikarp

This Magikarp with the special move Dragon Rage was available for 20 players through the "Tamamushi University Hyper Test" campaign in an issue of Shogakukan magazine, along with the rare Magikarp card, which is based on this Pokémon.

This Magikarp also made its appearance in Challenge at Tamamushi University! in Pokémon Get da ze!. Erika mentions the research about this Magikarp at Celadon University in Whacked by Marowak! in Pokémon Adventures.

CoroCoro Pikachu

These Surfing Pikachu promotion were revealed in October issue of CoroCoro Comics, and later Flying Pikachu promotion were revealed in November issue. However, there were only 20 Pikachu available each.

Legendary Pokémon Offer Mew

The #151 Pokémon Mew distribution was first revealed in May issue of CoroCoro Comics and later the second distribution in August issue. The first promotion received over 78,000 applications, but only gave away 20 Mew. The second promotion received about 80,000 applications, and this time there were 100 Mew available.
