Leer (Japanese: にらみつける Glare) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation II

Leer decreases the target's Defense stat by one stage.

Generations III and IV

Leer hits both opponents in a Double Battle.

Generation V onward

In a Triple Battle, Leer will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Leer, the user's Attack stat raises one stage.

Description

Games Description
StadStad2 A technique that lowers the target's Defense. Useful against tough, armored Pokémon.
GSC Reduces the foe's Defense.
RSEColoXD Frightens the foe with a leer to lower Defense.
FRLG The foe is given an intimidating look that lowers its Defense stat.
DPPtHGSS The foe is given an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The target's Defense stat is reduced.
BW The opposing team gains an intimidating leer with sharp eyes. The opposing team's Defense stats are reduced.
