Lapras (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

This {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} is based on the fabled {{wp|Loch Ness Monster}} in {{wp|Scotland}}. The creature and this Pokémon are said to resemble an extinct order of marine reptiles known as {{wp|Plesiosauria}}. However, while Lapras has a long neck, it is not nearly as long as the necks of those in the order {{wp|Plesiosauria}}, whereas Lapras's body is very similar to the creature that is said to be in Loch Ness. Lapras's intelligence, singing and rarity can be comparable with some {{wp|cetacean}}s, especially {{wp|blue whale}}s and {{wp|humpback whale}}s. It is also possible that its long neck and head (as well as its whole body) take some inspiration from the mast heads and hulls of {{wp|Viking}} ships.
