While Red did well on the first two, Lance managed to get on the space shuttle while Red and the gang was on. After the shuttle got destroyed, Lance flew away on his Dragonite while {{TP|Red|Clefairy}} had to deal with an upset {{OBP|Professor Oak|Pocket Monsters}}. Lance reappeared in ''[[PM038|The Final Battle!!]]'' where he took the as the dragon while riding on Dragonite that Red had to slay since {{OBP|Green|Pocket Monsters}} fled on his {{TP|Green|Charizard}}. During the match, Clefairy was still no match for him, even the weapons that he threw at Dragonite. However, when Lance was about to get beaten, he reveals his story about how he got Dragonite. About the story, Dragonite got reunited with its parents and ran off with his Dragonite.
