Kurt (Japanese: ? Gantetsu) is an Poké Ball smith who lives in Azalea Town in Johto. He studies the mechanics of Poké Balls, as well as making his own custom balls, such as Lure Balls, out of Apricots.

In the Anime

Ash was sent to Johto to deliver the GS Ball to Kurt for study.

Kurt lives in Azalea Town, a town that considers Slowpoke sacred for their mythical abilities to cause rainfall.

Ash and his friends meet him while investigating Slowpoke's Well because he heard strange noises coming from within. It turned out that Team Rocket was trying to steal the Slowpoke.
