Name origin

Kricketot is a from a corruption of cricket and tot. Korobōshi's name is derived from kuroboshi tsutsuhamushi, the black-spotted leaf beetle, or 蟋蟀 koorogi, cricket, and 黒星 kuroboshi, black-spot.
