Kanto Route 5

Route 5 is path running north to south from Cerulean City to Saffron City. In the games prominently featuring Kanto, the thirsty guards at the stations will not let anyone pass through to Saffron until some gets them a drink (Tea, Lemonade, Water, or Soda Pop) from Celadon City.

There is also an Underground Path on Route 5 that skips over Saffron and comes out on Route 6 in the south, just north of Vermillion City.

There is a Pokémon Daycare on this path, at the bottom of some ledges and grassy areas. The man inside will raise the levels of Pokémon while the their Trainers are away. He charges 100 Poké Dollars for every experience level it gains.
