Jessie's Shellder about to help Professor Westwood V's Slowpoke evolve.

Its only appearance was in The Evolution Solution. Jessie captured it on the beach in Seafoam Island after James's Weezing had weakened it, even though James said that Shellder should go to him. Later on, Jessie and James attempted to steal all the Pokémon at Professor Westwood V's lab, but found that all he had was a Slowpoke. In the hopes that a Slowbro would prove more valuable to Giovanni, Jessie sent out Shellder. After some misdirected Clamps (including Psyduck's head and tail, the former enabling Psyduck to remove the Bivalve Pokémon with Confusion), and a stunning display of speed from Westwood's Slowpoke, Shellder clamped down on Slowpoke's tail, causing it to evolve into Slowbro. Team Rocket tried to steal it, but Slowbro sent them blasting off again with Mega Punch (after using Amnesia to temporarily forget it). After this episode, neither Shellder nor the Slowbro or Professor Westwood were seen again.

Trivia

  • Shellder was the first Pokémon that Jessie captured after someone else weakened it (Yanma was the second). Coincidentally, the two Pokémon evolved shortly after their capture.
