Hordel (Japanese: ダニー Danny) is a Trainer at Outskirt Stand in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

He gives Michael a Shadow Togepi to purify for him. He trades an Elekid in exchange for it once it is purified. He used to be a member of Cipher and decided to save the Shadow Togepi. If Michael decides not to trade Togepi or Togetic, he will understand and ask him to take good care of it.

Traded

Hordel will trade an Elekid with a special set of moves for the purified Togepi or Togetic specific to that save file. The traded Elekid can be any gender or nature, has randomized IVs, and can possibly be Shiny.

"I'm Hordel. Are you maybe <player>? Am I glad to see you! I was terrified that Cipher would find me and drag me away if I stayed much longer."

"You see, I fled from Cipher's Key Lair way in the north. Oh? You know that place? Wow, you people at ONBS sure get information quickly. The Key Lair is a factory. It was made to mass-produce Shadow Pokémon. When I discovered that, I was horrified. I came to hate my job, so I escaped. When I fled, I managed to spirit away just one Shadow Pokémon. But even then, there were already many Shadow Pokémon I'm sure they've produced even more since then. While I was with Cipher, there were rumours about a boy who snags Shadow Pokémon and purifies them. Might that person be you? If so, I have a giant favor to ask of you. "Okay, there you go. Please purify my little guy for me. Besides my little guy, there were many Pokémon that had been turned into Shadow Pokémon at Cipher's Key Lair. In my desperation to flee, I wasn't able to save other Pokémon... it still gnaws at my conscience, wondering what became of the other Pokémon. If only there were some way of saving them!"

"By the way, are you searching for Team Snagem's Hideout?"

"Team Snagem's Hideout is around here somewhere."

"I passed it while fleeing from Cipher's Key Lair."

• After Togepi is purified

"Oh, hello. How is my Shadow Togepi doing? Oh, the Togepi in your party is my Togepi, isn't it? You've finished its purification! Oh, thank you! I'm so glad you're back to normal, Togepi! Now, may I have my Togepi back? I'm willing to trade you the Elekid I've been raising in return. Would that be okay?"

Yes: "Oh, you will!? Great! Let's trade right away!"

"Great, our trade's done. Please treat my Elekid with kindness, the way you did with my Togepi. Even though that Elekid is cute, it doesn't measure up against my Togepi at all. Thank you so much for purifying it!"
