Hoenn Route 129
129番水道 Sea Route 129
Map description
Many Pokémon Trainers visit this route to train their Pokémon before challenging the Pokémon League.
Heading south from Route 128, the route passes a Swimmer before beginning to turn to the southwest. While embarking on this turn, Route 129 passes another Trainer. Directly west of the Trainer is a third Swimmer set aside in an enclosed area of the route. The main path of the route continues southwest, turning to the west as it passes south of the enclosed area. After passing by another Trainer, the route continues uninterrupted onto Route 130.
In Pokémon Emerald, a second Trainer was added near the western terminus of the route. Marine Cave can also appear here, which is the only time Dive can be used here in Generation III.
Underwater
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, this route contains a large underwater section that continues into Route 130. By going underwater and heading east players can access the Secret Shore, where they can build Secret Bases. There are several new Trainers and hidden items underwater.

All items on Route 129 can only be accessed with the use of Surf.

In Generation III, it is impossible to hear the music that would normally play on this route due to there being no traversable ground. This is no longer the case in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as there is solid ground that can be walked on.
