Gulpin (Japanese: ゴクリン Gokulin) is a Poison-type Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Gulpin is a round, green, blob-like Pokémon. It has a black parallelogram on its back and a yellow feather-like appendage on its head. Gulpin's face consists of puckered lips and slanted eyes that are always closed. It has two stubby appendages that are the same shape as its lips.
Gender differences
A female Gulpin has a shorter feather-like appendage than a male's.
Special abilities
Gulpin can swallow anything its own size due to the fact that Gulpin is practically all stomach. Gulpin's stomach fluids have enough acidity to melt scrap iron. Some of Gulpin's status move options include Yawn, Amnesia, Curse, and Snatch. Gulpin is also capable of a small handful of elemental attacks. It is one of the few Pokémon that can use Pain Split and Gunk Shot.
Behavior
Gulpin is known to eat in large quantities, most likely because its powerful stomach can handle anything.
Habitat
Gulpin tend to live in grassy plains. However, they sometimes migrate into cities and eat practically anything in sight.

"A Stomach Pokémon. While it's a carefree Pokémon with a lovable face, it can swallow something the size of itself in one gulp. Its stomach is filled with gastric juices strong enough to dissolve anything it eats. As it matures, it learns Wring Out, a move which is as strong as the remaining strength of the Pokémon. Trivia
- Gulpin is the only Pokémon to date with a base-stat total of 302.
- Gulpin can be seen as a parallel to Baltoy. Both of them are Generation III Pokémon. Gulpin is exclusive to Pokémon SoulSilver, while Baltoy is exclusive to Pokémon HeartGold, with both Pokémon found in a Pokémon outbreak in the same locations in their respective versions. Additionally, both can be snagged as Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon XD at the Shadow PKMN Lab, with both Pokémon having the same Shadow move, Shadow Blitz.
Origin
Gulpin's appearance may be based on a single, giant poison gland or even a gallbladder, the green sac-like organ that stores gastric acid. It also shares similarities with some snake species known to swallow their prey whole.
Name origin
Gulpin is a shortening of gulping (swallowing). It may also be a combination of "gulp" and "sculpin", as its appearance vaguely resembles the related blobfish.
Gokulin may be a combination of ゴクリ gokuri (the sound of gulping) and toxin.
