Gilded Halls (Japanese: 黄金の間 Golden Room) are special areas found inside Mystery Dungeons that have a golden appearance and contain valuable items in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. They have previously been referred to as Golden Chambers (Japanese: おうごんのま Golden Room) in Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, and as (Japanese: しあわせのま Happiness Room) in Blazing, Stormy, and Light Adventure Squad.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky
Golden Chambers appear as a special floor of a dungeon as the result of accepting a special job request to explore one, changing the destination floor of that job to a Golden Chamber. The job is complete as soon as the player steps on the staircase. These missions appear only after the player's team is at least Diamond Rank.
The Golden Chamber is a small floor which always has the same layout. It has two Deluxe Boxes in the center of the floor, surrounded by walls in a rectangle with four waterways, one at the center of each edge of the walls. As a result, it is necessary to remove or cross the water to obtain the Deluxe Boxes. There are no enemy Pokémon, traps, or items other than the two Deluxe Boxes inside the chamber; however, weather is variable.
After proceeding to next floor, even if the player goes back to the same floor the Golden Chamber was on, the chamber will not appear without a job to explore it. This chamber can appear in almost any level and any dungeon.
The Deluxe Boxes obtained in a Golden Chamber can contain the following items:
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blazing, Stormy, and Light Adventure Squad
Happiness Chambers share many of the same mechanics as Golden Chambers from Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky. Unlike Golden Chambers, they do not have items blocked off by waterways.
The Deluxe Boxes obtained in a Happiness Chamber can contain the same items as in Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, as well as sweets.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Unlike in previous games, Gilded Halls in Pokémon Mystery Dungeons: Gates to Infinity have randomized floor layouts like regular dungeons. They also contain traps and enemy Pokémon, and sometimes even contain a Monster House or Training Switches. Enemy Pokémon can differ depending on what dungeon the player was in before entering a Gilded Hall. Entry to a Gilded Hall through Silent Tundra, Dreamy Island, and Moonlit Forest provides access to its Inner Chamber which allow players to recruit Tornadus, while the Inner Chamber accessed through Rusty Mountain, Jaws of the Abyss, and Smoking Mountain allow players to recruit Thundurus.
Sparkling Floor tiles are common in Gilded Halls, and often hold Gold Ribbons. Poké can also be found in relatively large quantities.
As with Uncharted Roads, the player can be randomly warped into a Gilded Hall or Gilded Hall Inner Chamber by high mysteriosity. However, unlike Uncharted Roads, Gilded Halls can have floor numbers.
Gilded Halls with floor numbers can be found in the following dungeons:
- Stony Cave
- Hazy Pass
- Stompstump Peak
- Desolate Canyon
- Forest Grotto
- Inflora Forest
- Tempting Path
- Great Glacier
- Daybreak Ridge
- Ochre Quarry
- Scorching Desert
- Grove of Whispers
Gilded Hall Inner Chambers, without floor numbers, can be found in the following dungeons:
