Gentleman (Trainer class)
A Gentleman (Japanese: ジェントルマン Gentleman) is a type of Pokémon trainer that first debuted in the Generation I games. They are older men in dapper suits.
They generally use Pokémon based on pets - such as Growlithe, Manectric, or Chatot.
In Pokémon Stadium, they are known as Old Men. In Generation IV, they gain a female counterpart in the Socialite.
In the anime
A gentleman apppeared in EP015. This gentleman owned a Raticate that, oddly enough, could use Hi Jump Kick. Ash traded his Butterfree for the Raticate, but grew a little worried about his Butterfree, so he and the gentleman traded back their Pokémon, just before the S.S. Anne started sinking due to a storm. The same Gentleman makes a brief cameo in Time Warp Heals All Wounds.
