Fake Out is a Normal-type move introduced in Generation III that deals a small amount of damage. Its Japanese name refers to a sumo technique used to confuse foes.
Effect
Fake Out is a first-strike move that always makes the target flinch. Although its accuracy of 100%, it often "fails", which is not technically a miss. Fake Out will hit Pokémon with the Inner Focus Ability but will not make them flinch, although they will still take damage.
