Embargo (Japanese: さしおさえ Seize) is a non-damaging Dark-type move introduced in Generation IV. It has been TM63 since Generation IV.

Effect

This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Effect on Lucky Egg in Generation IV and V
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Generation IV

The target is unable to use its held item and the Trainer is also unable to use items on that Pokémon for five turns. The effect wears off if the Pokémon switches out.

A Pokémon under the effect of Embargo cannot use Fling.

Generation V

Embargo can now be reflected with Magic Coat.

Generation VI onward

Embargo does not prevent the use of Mega Stones when Mega Evolving a Pokémon, nor the experience boost from Lucky Egg.

If powered up by a Darkinium Z into Z-Embargo, the user's Special Attack stat raises one stage.
