Durant (Japanese: アイアント Aiant) is a dual-type Bug/Steel Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Durant is a six-legged insect Pokémon with a grey body and black legs, bearing much resemblance to an ant. Its large pincers are jagged. Durant's red eyes are covered with the same steel-like carapace as the rest of its body. It has two antennae, each with a big gray ball on the end. It has a similarly shaped abdomen to some species of spider.

Special abilities
Behavior
Durant attack in groups; meaning they get along to an extent. To protect themselves against attacks from predators, they group together using each other's steel-like armor as shields. Durant gather leaves and bring them to their nest. There the leaves are rolled up into balls and stored for food.
Habitat
Durant live in mountains. They dig twisting tunnels in the mountains to form their nests.
Diet

Like some of their real life counterparts, Durant were shown to be leaf gathers in Battling the Leaf Thieves!. The leaves they find are brought back to their nest, rolled up into balls and stored as food for later.

Major appearances
Durant made its debut in Battling the Leaf Thieves!, where a colony accidentally kidnapped Iris's Axew while gathering food.

- Durant has the highest Speed of all Steel-type Pokémon.
Origin
Durant is based on an ant, possibly the Argentine ant, as its jaw is similar to Durant's. Its coloration may be based on the natural silver coloration of the silver spiny ant (Polyrhachis sp.).
Name origin
Durant may be a combination of durable or endurance (referring to its Steel type) and ant.
Aiant may be a combination of アイアン aian (iron) and ant.
