Dodrio Berry Picking (Japanese: ドードリオのきのみどり Dodorio Berry Picking) is a minigame of the Joyful Game Corner in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen or of the Mossdeep Game Corner in Pokémon Emerald which requires the Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter.

It is similar to the Egg Emergency minigame from Pokémon Stadium 2.

Gameplay

In Dodrio Berry Picking, three to five Dodrio line up and try to collect as many Berries as possible before time runs out. By using the ←, →, and ↑ buttons on the Game Boy Advance's D-pad to make each Dodrio's heads catch the falling Berries, players fill up boxes in a meter that tracks progress. Each Berry fills a box in the meter and missing a single Berry causes the meter to restart. Purple berries fall at a slow pace, green berries at a medium pace, and gold berries at a quick pace, each granting a point score higher than the last respectively.

In order to play the minigame, three to five players must link up using three to five individual systems, each equipped with a GBA wireless adapter. The Game Link Cable is not compatible. In order to participate, players must also have a Dodrio in their party. If a player enters a Shiny Dodrio, it will appear Shiny in the minigame.

After each minigame, the highest scoring player (or players in the event of an exact tie) is awarded a random berry from the set available for the current number of players (as long as there is space in the player's bag)[1]. Different berry rewards are available for playing with 3, 4, and 5 players[2].

The player must collect 200 Berries in one game to increase their Trainer Card level.

FireRed & LeafGreen arc

The Dodrio Berry Picking minigame appeared as part of a training method designed by Ultima in order to teach Red and Blue the ultimate moves: Frenzy Plant and Blast Burn, respectively. It was their second of three challenges, taking place in what was known as "The Path of Catching". During the training, Red and Blue had to ride on Dodrio whilst catching several falling Berries without letting them hit the floor. The task was made harder by the floor sliding forwards at an increasing speed.
