This card was included as both a Holofoil amd Non Holofoil card in the Team Rocket expansion, first released in the Japanese Rocket Gang expansion as a Holofoil. Unusually for English cards given a Non Holofoil counterpart, the artwork on the card differs between the Holofoil and Non Holofoil prints. While the Holofoil print has a white background, the Non Holofoil print has a multicolored, warped background.
Although this Pokémon is level 26, Magnemite does not evolve into Magneton until level 30.
This card's Pokédex entry erroneously refers to the plural of Magneton as Magnetons.
When the Team Rocket expansion came out, it was the 4th non-reprint set of the TCG. Magneton became one of the 3 Pokémon to be featured on 3 different cards (Base Set, Fossil and Team Rocket). The other two were Electrode and Raichu.
