Corey Demario (Japanese: ツヨシ Tsuyoshi) is a character of the day who appeared in Those Darn Electabuzz!.

Corey Demario

Corey was the star pitcher for the Electabuzz baseball team. He is Casey's idol, being the star of her favorite team. Following a shoulder injury, which lead Corey to leave the game, his younger brother Benny had been looking after Corey's Charizard for him.

After a chance encounter at a park, Casey decided to help Corey train the Pokémon. Eventually, she discovered that neither of them were confident in themselves, which caused their skills to lack. Corey's father Shigeo also revealed that Corey's shoulder injury was already healed, though his son had decided not to return to baseball for some reason. Thank to Casey's pep and push, Charizard soon improved, and Corey's confidence rose as well and he returned to baseball soon after.

		Charizard, nicknamed Don (Japanese: ドン Don), is Corey's only known Pokémon. He has had Don ever since it was a Charmander. At some point, Don had lost its fire and ability to fly. It was given to Benny, Corey's younger brother. Don later regained those abilities thanks to Casey's pep and by the end of Those Darn Electabuzz! it was given back to Corey. Don's only known move is Flamethrower.

His Charizard's nickname is intended to be a play on its Japanese name, "Lizardon".
The name Demario may come from Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees. However, DiMaggio is an outfielder, not a pitcher.
