In the games

Yacon appears in Pokémon Black and White as the Gym Leader of Hodomoe City's gym. This gym will be the fifth to be challenged by the player. Trainers who defeat Yacon will receive the Quake Badge. Shortly after, he appears on Route 6 to aid the player in removing the Denchura web blocking the entrance to the Electric Rock Cave. After his Waruvile removes the web, he gives TM78 (Smooth Over) to the player. He also reappears again at N's Castle where he and the other Unova Gym Leaders hold off the Seven Sages.

Trivia

  • His Japanese Leader title is アンダーグラウンド ボス.
  • The reason why Yakon uses Ground-type Pokemon may be because of the fact that the western part of the US was shown as a dry, hot, desert-like place.
    • This can be proved by his outfit, an old western clothing.
