Chikorita (Japanese: チコリータ Chicorita) is a Grass-type Basic Pokémon card. It is part of the Neo Genesis expansion.

Release information

This card was included in the Neo Genesis expansion. In Japan, it was one of nine Unnumbered Promotional cards available in the Premium File, released on December 10, 1999. A Jumbo version was one of three cards available in copies of the Johto First Partner Pack, released on September 3, 2021 to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. This print features a foil Pokémon 25th Anniversary logo in the bottom right corner of the illustration window.

Trivia

The Japanese print features the Gold, Silver, to a New World... symbol, indicating that it is a promotional addition to the expansion.

Origin

Growl and Razor Leaf are both moves in the Pokémon games that Chikorita can learn. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Silver, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Gold.
