Release information

In Japan, this card was included in the Nintendo Space World 2001 Official Guidebook, given to visitors at the Chiba Nintendo Space World, held in August 2001, with artwork by Hajime Kusajima. The English Wizards Black Star Promotional version of the card was obtainable by buying a ticket to the cinema showing of Celebi: The Voice of the Forest and was packaged with a double-sided e-reader advertisement. The "Pokémon 4Ever" logo is featured underneath the illustration and the illustrator's named was misspelled, saying "Hajime Kusajim". The card was reprinted in Japan with new artwork by the same artist and was available as an insert with Volume 13 of Pokémon Card Trainers magazine, released in September 2001. This card was reprinted with its original artwork, corrected illustrator credit, and the EX Series card design as one of the Nintendo Black Star Promos, exclusively in English. This print was first available in the EX Collector's Carry Tin and later the EX Value Pack.

Trivia

  • The Wizards of the Coast version was the first English promotional card to feature the aesthetic changes made to the cards in the e-Card Series.
  • Nintendo Space World 2001 counted a total of 81,000 visitors. Knowing that every visitor was able to collect a Nintendo Space World 2001 Official Guidebook that included the Celebi 006/P promo, we get a rough idea of the card population. [1]

Origin

This card's English e-Reader Pokédex entries come from Pokémon Crystal. The Japanese entry for the Wizards Black Star Promotional print also comes from Pokémon Crystal, while the entry for the P Promotional print comes from Pokémon Gold.
