Name

This needs a much shorter name. Can we get ideas and opinions here? Maybe something like "Universal TM moves"? I know it's not quite 'universal', but I think it'd still be understood. Werdnae (talk) 22:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

how about "TMs All PKMN can learn" Truthseeker4449 22:33, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
I'll have to agree with Universal. Ataro 22:36, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
"Moves learnable by anything compatible with TMs", how's that sound? - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 22:52, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
how about "PKMN that can learn all TMs" Truthseeker4449 23:06, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Pokémon that can learn all TMs? You mean Mew? - Blazios talk 23:09, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Either "Universal TM moves" or just "TM moves that all Pokémon can learn" would probably work; then just add a sentence to the article text explaining that the list doesn't apply to Pokémon that can't learn any TM moves? ***shiningSteelix*** 23:11, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
For the purposes of this discussion, please treat "PKMN" as "Pokémon". The shorthand "PKMN" will not be used in a category name. Werdnae (talk) 23:17, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
A vote perhaps? Truthseeker4449 23:19, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Exactly how do you want to vote? On PKMN, or a different issue? If it's the former, it's not happening. ht14 23:50, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
By what name you pefer here's a way we could do it here Truthseeker4449 00:01, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
I also agree with "Universal TM moves" like werdnae said. --Pokemaster97 00:54, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
I'm starting to favor "Universal TM moves" Truthseeker4449 16:05, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
I think I would have to agree with ShiningSteelix. "TM moves all PKMN can learn" is more self explainable. LimeGreenCharizard 19:46, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
What's the hold up on this move? LimeGreenCharizard 05:15, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
Why isn't anyone moving this? --LimeGreenCharizard-- 16:38, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Moves

I think it's worth noting Rest and Protect, with only Regigigas not being able to learn it. LimeGreenCharizard 00:06, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Not really. Regigigas can learn TMs, but not Protect or Rest; ergo, to categorize either move as a move that anything that learns TMs can learn would be misleading. It's already noted in the respective articles anyway. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 00:14, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
It's not really that misleading, seeing as Regigigas is such a rare Pokémon. But, whatever. - unsigned comment from LimeGreenCharizard (talkcontribs)

Magearna/Tapu Bulu/yes/Pyukumuku/Pyukumuku/Drampa and Guzzlord/Magearna/a whole 8 of Alola Pokemon for some reason/yes/Honedge line/Pyukumuku (you mean Hidden Power)/Guzzlord. Eridanus (talk) 12:47, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
If I understand your meaning, Yes. They are Noteworthy TMs excepted from this category. That's my point. That's why they should be mentioned in that segment on this page. MicManGuy (talk) 08:46, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Eridanus is pointing out that not all Pokémon can learn them, so they don't belong in a category for moves that all Pokémon can learn.
IMO, while that is correct and should be the standard as long as the page stays at its current title... I think the growing number of "pseudo-universal" TMs is a strong indicator that we should probably rename this category to "TM moves that nearly all Pokémon can learn" or something like that. Of course, that would have to go through the staff first. I'll add a move suggestion template to get the staff's attention. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:52, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, but did you guys not even look at the page? This page already has a section for that: "Noteworthy TMs excepted from this category:" It lists things like Attract, Captivate and Double-Edge. The additional moves should go there. MicManGuy (talk) 08:42, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

Regigigas can learn Rest and Protect now

"Rest and Protect, which can be learned by all Pokémon that learn TM moves except Regigigas."
