Should Mega Evolutions be included on the page?

Can they, and should they be treated any differently than a new evolution or pre-evolution an older Pokémon might gain in a new generation?

I'm certain if Game freak/Nintendo were to reveal a new evolution or pre-evolution of any past generation Pokémon, that Pokémon would most definitely be placed on this page. Should, for example, a Pokémon like Sudowoodo get a new non Mega Evolution evolved form, that would be placed on the page without much debate.

With that being the case, I think it should be discussed if these Mega Evolutions deserve a place on this page.

As I was typing this; I got a few twitter updates from Pokémon Database, they said quote "In the two months leading up to the release of Black/White, 26 new Pokemon were revealed. It's just under two months til X&Y...Also, 58 total Pokemon were revealed before B/W. We are currently on 37 for X/Y incl Mega Evolutions. Remainder = 21. Still lots to come!" So some are definitely counting the Mega Evolutions as if they were new Pokémon altogether. Yamitora1 (talk) 01:33, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

We don't even have pages for the individual Mega Evolutions, which is necessary before they can be added to this category. (I am strongly against just placing the main "Blaziken (Pokemon)" page in both the Gen 3 and 6 categories, for example.) When more information is revealed about Mega Evolutions, the admins will decide how to treat them, and whether they are placed in this category will be a natural outcome of whether they have their own pages or not. Why is this user page listed in the Gen 6 Pokemon category?- unsigned comment from Sylveon (talkcontribs)

That user in question used the template on their page, and triggered the page being added to the category. Will let them know so this can be corrected. Berrenta (talk) 01:47, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
