Some Bulbapedia members have formed a project to better organize efforts to write and improve articles about trainer classes in the Pokémon game. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page or, if you would like to join this project, you can sign your name below.

What is Project Trainer Class

Scope and aims

Project Trainer Class is a project designed to expand all articles in the Trainer Class from all the Pokémon games. It covers all trainer classes in the main series from Generation I to Generation IV.

Our ultimate goal is to expand and complete all articles on trainer classes, such as Bug Catcher and Youngster that have appeared in the games. Currently, this project covers every trainer class in Generation I, II, III and IV, along with Pokémon Colosseum/XD and Pokémon Battle Revolution.

How can I help?

You can help by opening the list of trainer classes and selecting any incomplete trainer class and expand it by providing any extra information about it. There is no need for creating any new articles, as all trainer classes have already been made. But instead, you can expand the many trainer class stub articles that have been created.

By following the structure of the article below, you can expand and modify any article to comply with the project standard.

Some trainer class articles, namely ones from Pokémon Colosseum/XD and Pokémon Battle Revolution don’t have pictures or unsatisfactory pictures. You can add a picture to these articles, if possible, by upload a sprite or screenshot of that trainer to the Bulbagarden Archives.

To-do List

  • Add pictures in all generations to every Trainer Class article.
  • Complete every Trainer Class article from Generation I to the project standard.
  • Complete every Trainer Class article from Generation II to the project standard.
  • Complete every Trainer Class article from Generation III to the project standard.
  • Complete every Trainer Class article from Generation IV to the project standard.

Structure of an article

The structure of every Trainer Class article should go as followed:

Main Section

This section should be untitled, at the start of the article. It should contain a general description of the trainer’s appearance and personality. There should be a brief history of their encounter in the game, such as where they can be first located, and where they are most located. Any other information that can’t be classified in the other sections can go here.

Appearances

Add all the trainer class sprites or screenshots from all the games their found in. They should be added side by side to each other, not in a gallery, with a caption noting which game it is from.

Pokémon

Most trainer classes specialize in a certain type of Pokémon. State which types the trainer class uses and their strategy in battle.

Trainer List

A list of all trainers and there Pokémon should go here by generation.

In the anime

Some trainer classes have anime counterparts. These characters can be added here, with a description about the character, and optionally a picture of them.

Trivia

Place any notable trivia, of course, here. Each separate piece of trivia should be placed in dot points.

Templates to use

What to type What it makes Notes
{{Project Class notice}} Template:Project Class notice To be placed on the bottom of all articles covered by this project below the article to designate the article as part of this project. It should be placed after the stub notice.
{{Class stub}} Template:Class stub Designates this article relating to trainer classes as a stub. It should be placed before the Project Class notice.

There are also the trainer class templates for each generation of games. Place each Trainer Class Template onto each relative Trainer Class article. There is one template for each generation, copy it into the article, at the bottom of the article but above the stub notice, or project notice:
