Team Rocket came across Blissey and the Happiness Pokémon aparently knew Jessie from her days of training to be a Pokémon nurse. Blissey eagerly gave Team Rocket all the food in Pokémon Center's pantry. Team Rocket eventual decided to make it seem like they robbed the pantry because Blissey was getting blamed for a crime she didn't mean to commit.

Trivia

Origin

It may be based on a nurse. Design-wise, it appears to have some physical similarities to Nurse Joy from the anime in both color and hair.

Name origin

Blissey's name is a combination of bliss, as in happiness, and chancey, referring to luck. Its Japanese name may be a combination of happiness and nurse. The French name is seemingly a corruption of euphoria.
