Bite (Japanese: かみつく Bite) is a damage-dealing Dark-type move introduced in Generation I. In Generation I, this move is Normal-type.

Effect

Generation I

Bite is a Normal-type move in this generation.

Bite inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of causing the target to flinch.

Generation II-III

Same as Generation I, except Bite is now a Dark-type move, and now has a 30% chance of causing the target to flinch. Due to the change in type, Bite is now classified as a special attack instead of a physical attack.

Generation IV and on

Bite is once again classified as a physical attack.

Description

Games Description
A bite made using sharp fangs. This may cause the opponent to flinch, and it might not attack.
An attack that may cause flinching.
RSE Bites with vicious fangs. May cause flinching.
FRLG The user bites with vicious fangs. It may make the foe flinch.
The foe is bitten with viciously sharp fangs. It may make the target flinch.
Conq The target is bitten with viciously sharp fangs. It may make the target flinch.
