Barrier (Japanese: バリアー Barrier) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generations I to V

Barrier increases the user's Defense by two stages.

Generation VI onward

Barrier's PP was changed from 30 to 20.

If powered up by a Psychium Z into Z-Barrier, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.

Description

Games Description
Stad Instantly forms a barrier between the user and the opponent. Defense is sharply increased.
Stad2 Instantly forms a barrier between the user and the opponent. Defense is increased.
GSC Sharply increases user's Defense.
RSEColo.XD Creates a barrier that sharply raises Defense.
FRLG The user throws up a sturdy wall that sharply raises its Defense stat.
