The captain is a character of the day who appeared in The Lost World of Gothitelle!. He was not given an official name in the Japanese version or any of the dubs.
He first appeared in an illusion created by Gothitelle, which depicted his time as the young captain of a water taxi that transported passengers from the outskirts of Pinwheel Forest to Castelia City, before the Skyarrow Bridge was built. On board was his daughter Sally, who gave snacks to passengers, and a Gothitelle who helped her. Ash, Iris, and Cilan appeared in this illusion and boarded the ferry.
The captain later appeared in Sally's flashback, in which he closed down the ferry business after Skyarrow Bridge was completed. He was then seen moving with Sally, and Gothitelle went to work at Sally's uncle's restaurant. After Sally left home, Gothitelle was left with him at the restaurant. When Sally returned home after studying medicine, he told her that Gothitelle had mysteriously disappeared.
