Card Key
The Card Key is a Key Item that is used to open certain doors blocking a players path in buildings. It is featured in Generation I, II and III.
Locations and uses of the Card Key
Generation I and III
The Card Key is found in Silph Co.'s head office building while under siege by Team Rocket. It is used to open doors on various levels of the building that the player was unable to pass before. It is found on the ground in a small corridor on the fourth floor, a rarity among Key Items, most of which are given to the player as part of the storyline. The Card Key does not exist in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
Generation II
The Card Key is obtained by the rescuing of the manager of the Radio Tower. The manager gives the Card Key to the player in order to open a door on the third level of the tower while under siege by Team Rocket.
