I changed it to show Vespiquen, with a black and yellow tag. This is the BEEHIVE STATE, and Wingull doesn't really fit for me. Just message me if you disagree. Changed from Blaziken (which is, admittedly, a pretty awesome representation of the Rhode Island Red) to Clamperl, and I doubt any other native Rhode Islander will challenge me on it. It's not called the Ocean State for nothing -- the entire heart of the state is the bay, and there's so much shoreline, the state is 3% larger at low tide. The ideal symbol would be some sort of anchor Pokémon, since that's the actual state symbol, but they haven't made such a Pokémon yet, so... the next best symbol is the quahaug, which is both the state shell and a significant part of RI's history and modern culture. But not the actual name of a town, despite what a certain cartoon suggests. | |||
Shellder or Cloyster could also work, but Clamperl seems the closest physiologically. And matches the current colors to boot. --Pie ~♪♫ 01:56, 2 April 2014 (UTC) |
